Who we are

Tiny Desk AI (gettinydeskai.org) is an online tool that puts the people in your photos into a short AI band video modeled on the Tiny Desk trend. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and what choices you have. Questions: support@gettinydeskai.org.

What we collect

1. Account data: your email address, name and, if you sign in with Google or GitHub, the basic profile those services share with us.
2. Photos you upload: the image you add to make a video. It contains your face (or the face of someone who agreed to be in the video).
3. Generated videos: the videos we render for you.
4. Credits and payments: your credit balance and purchase history. Card details are handled by Stripe; we never see or store full card numbers.
5. Technical data: IP address, browser and device type, and pages visited, used for security, rate limiting and basic analytics.
6. Cookies: a session cookie that keeps you signed in and a cookie that remembers your language.

Google user data

If you choose Sign in with Google, we ask Google only for the basic sign-in permissions (openid, email and profile). We do not request access to your Gmail, Drive, Contacts, Calendar or any other Google service.

What we receive: your name, email address, profile picture and a Google account ID.

How we use it: only to create your Tiny Desk AI account, sign you in, show your name and picture in your account menu, and send account and support emails to that address. We do not use it for advertising, and we do not use it to develop, improve or train AI or machine-learning models.

Sharing: we do not sell Google user data and do not share it with third parties, except with the hosting and email providers listed below that need it to run your account, or when required by law.

Storage and protection: it is stored in our account database, sent over HTTPS and accessible only to the people who run the service.

Retention and deletion: we keep it while your account is open. To delete it, email support@gettinydeskai.org from that address and we will delete your account and its Google data within 30 days. You can also remove Tiny Desk AI's access at any time from your Google Account at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

Tiny Desk AI's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

How we use your photo

Your photo is used only to render the video you asked for:

• It is sent, together with the template clip and the settings you picked, to our AI video provider, which runs ByteDance's Seedance video models.
• We do not publish your photo or your video in a public gallery, sell them, or use them to train our own models. They may be stored by the hosting or storage provider needed to deliver your files.
• We do not use your photo for facial recognition or to identify you.

How we use the rest of your data

• To create and secure your account and keep you signed in.
• To process purchases, add credits and refund credits for failed renders.
• To answer support requests.
• To detect and prevent abuse, fraud and misuse of other people's photos.
• To understand, in aggregate, how the site is used and improve it.

Who we share data with

We share only what each service needs to work:

• AI video provider (Kie.ai or SeeAPI, running ByteDance Seedance models), your photos, the template clip and the render settings.
• Stripe: payment processing.
• Cloud storage and hosting (for example Cloudflare), storing uploaded photos and generated videos and serving the site.
• Email provider: account and support emails.
• Authorities: when required by law or to protect people from harm.

How long we keep it

• Uploaded photos and generated videos are kept only as long as needed to deliver your video and let you download it. Email support@gettinydeskai.org from your account address to request deletion at any time; include the relevant render or order details when available.
• Account and purchase records are kept while your account is open and afterwards as long as tax and accounting rules require.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, or to delete your account, by emailing support@gettinydeskai.org. Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK or California) you may have additional rights, including the right to complain to a data protection authority. We do not sell personal data.

Children

Tiny Desk AI is for people aged 18 and over. Do not upload photos of anyone under 18. If we learn that we hold such data, we delete it.

International transfers

Our providers may process data outside your country. When they do, we rely on the safeguards those providers offer, such as standard contractual clauses.

Security

Data is sent over HTTPS, access to stored files is restricted, and sensitive settings are encrypted. No system is perfectly secure, so please contact us right away if you notice anything wrong.

Changes

We will update this page when our practices change and change the date above. Significant changes will be announced on the site.
